Violation Ticket Report

We had a customer request a "Violation Ticket" report similar to the "Building Ticket" report that runs from the Inspection Report Screen. While you can't run such a report from the Inspection Report Screen I did create one that mimics that same format from the Violation Report Screen. The resulting report is now available from the Downloads section of our web site.

Using Scripts to add to Drop Down Lists

This is one that surprised me. You can use scripts in ZonePro to add new items to the drop-down lists that are hard coded in the program. I learned this while helping a customer add a new option to the Billing Status drop-down box in the Rental Screen. That example is posted in a new "More User Script Examples" document available from the scripts page of our web site. In the past this is the kind of thing a customer would have to request and wait for the next release to get, so it's cool that you can now add new options yourself.

Upgrade Screen added to ZP Remote

I'm slipping in a new feature to ZP Remote to make it easier for users to keep the structure of their remote databases compatible with their ZonePro databases. The Upgrade Databases Screen will now be available from the Maintenance sections of both ZonePro and ZP Remote. The Upgrade Screen checks the structures of installed databases and adds new fields as needed. It occurred to me belatedly that this past Fall when we increased the size of the First Name field in the Property database that change would not get passed to ZP Remote unless customers manually copied the updated Property database files to each laptop. Having the Upgrade Databases Screen available in ZP Remote provides another, perhaps more convenient, way of making sure structural changes are mirrored on the laptop side. The updated files are available upon request.

Printed Manual Updated; PDF Version Too

I just completed another update of the ZonePro printed manual. The new Word DOC files are available for download from our Tutorials page. The update includes all of the features added in the last two ZonePro upgrades. I also added a new page to our web site that gives access to the ZonePro manual in PDF format. This makes it super easy to view the manual directly from our web site.
